LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a respected law firm to recruit an experienced IP Legal Assistant. This full time position is ideal for a legal professional with experience supporting intellectual property attorneys in patent, trademark, and related intellectual property matters. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing deadlines, preparing legal documents, coordinating filings, and supporting domestic and international intellectual property portfolios.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide administrative and legal support to attorneys handling patent and trademark matters

• Prepare, revise, proofread, and format intellectual property related correspondence and legal documents

• Coordinate patent and trademark filings with the United States Patent and Trademark Office and foreign associates

• Maintain intellectual property docket entries and monitor upcoming deadlines

• Assist with the preparation and filing of patent applications, trademark applications, responses, assignments, and related documents

• Manage attorney calendars and schedule meetings, calls, and client communications

• Organize and maintain intellectual property files and electronic records

• Review incoming correspondence from clients, government agencies, and foreign counsel and route information appropriately

• Prepare client reporting letters, status updates, and routine communications

• Assist with billing support, time entry, expense processing, and matter administration

• Coordinate signatures, document execution, and record maintenance for intellectual property transactions

• Support due diligence projects and intellectual property portfolio reviews as needed

Qualifications

• Prior experience as an IP Legal Assistant in a law firm environment preferred

• Knowledge of patent and trademark prosecution processes and intellectual property terminology

• Familiarity with United States Patent and Trademark Office procedures and filing requirements

• Experience working with docketing systems, document management software, and legal databases

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage numerous deadlines simultaneously

• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high quality work

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint

• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with attorneys and support staff

• Professionalism, discretion, and the ability to handle confidential information

Preferred Skills

• Experience supporting domestic and international patent matters, trademark matters, or both

• Familiarity with intellectual property docketing software and electronic filing systems

• Ability to prioritize multiple assignments in a fast paced legal environment

• Strong client service skills and commitment to responsiveness

Benefits:

Bonus eligibility and amount are based upon company and/or individual performance.

Pay Details: $60,000.00 to $80,000.00 per year
