Duties
The following are the duties of this position at the full working level. If this vacancy includes more than one grade and you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform these duties and receive training to help you grow in this position.
- Performs tax computations for the most complex and complicated accounting, auditing and procedural issues within the Business Division. Resolves issues such as complex depreciation, carry back/carry forward, foreign tax credit, complex restricted interest computations, valuation and cost analysis, and change of accounting methods or various interest computations.
- Serves as a technical expert on issues that impact specified tax computations, i.e., Alternative minimum tax, Passive activity losses, etc.
- Advises and assists management in developing and implementing new and/or improved auditing techniques, and assists in implementing administrative and procedural guidelines for tax computations.
- Advises and assists examiners with tax and interest computations for cases not susceptible to standard practices.
