Position Overview

Harmony Care Psychiatry is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our team in Houston, Texas. Work Environment

This is a full-time, on-site position located in a school facility in Houston, where you will work closely with students and their families. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and educational staff, ensuring seamless care for our adolescent patients in a welcoming and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations to assess and diagnose mental health disorders in children and adolescents.
• Design and implement personalized treatment plans based on thorough assessments, applying evidence-based methodologies tailored to each patient's distinct needs.
• Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications, continuously monitoring their effectiveness and making necessary adjustments to dosage to optimize patient outcomes.
• Deliver psychotherapy sessions utilizing a variety of therapeutic techniques, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), aiming to empower our youth towards recovery.
• Coordinate care with other healthcare providers to ensure an integrated approach in treating complex mental health issues.
• Educate patients and their families about mental health, treatment strategies, and self-care methods to foster an environment of understanding and support.
• Monitor progress with regular follow-ups, documenting responses to treatments, engaging in active discussions about therapies, and making real-time adjustments to care plans as necessary.
• Participate in interdisciplinary meetings to discuss cases, contribute to team-based strategies, and gain feedback to enhance clinical practices.

Patient Population / Client Focus

We primarily focus on children and adolescents dealing with various mental health challenges including anxiety, depression, ADHD, and behavioral disorders. Your role will significantly impact the well-being of these youth, as well as their families, by providing targeted intervention strategies that promote effective coping mechanisms and resilience.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or a relevant field is required.
• A valid Nurse Practitioner license in the state of Texas with a specialization in psychiatric mental health.
• Strong clinical skills in psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment are essential.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to connect with patients, families, and team members.

Preferred Experience

Compensation and Benefits
