Benefits Accounting Analyst

: Maxar is seeking Benefits Accounting Analyst to fully manage actual and forecasted benefit costs for both P&L and Cash. In this role, you will provide support for the Accounting, FP&A and Cash teams. It's an exciting opportunity to wear many hats across the team. Position is fully remote from any state. Responsibilities include:

• Own portions of the payroll accounting for Maxar Space. Payroll accounting includes helping to reconcile payroll accounts; moving hours for employees between different charge codes; providing reports as needed.
• Own portions of the Indirect Spend tracking within the FP&A team primarily focusing on fringe pool costs.
• By tracking actual costs and cash spend for these areas, provide forecasted costs to FP&A and Cash functions.
• Work on special projects for automations and systems reporting utilizing programs such as Alteryx or Tableau.
• Assist in requests for support by both our internal and external auditors.
• Produce modeling for forecasted costs and cash spend (includes related intercompany charges).
• Produce and input various journal entries into Financial Systems.
• Assist in analyzing and reviewing general ledger accounts through preparation of monthly reconciliations,
• Perform a variety of routine accounting duties such as gathering and compiling accounting data for financial statements and other reports.
• Work closely with various departments to gather data used for invoice classification
• Provide and receive support to/from other Accounting / Finance team members, as needed.
• Work closely with various departments to gather data used for analysis and forecasting including HR/Benefits, Payroll, and Intercompany
• Critically review reports and logs received for inconsistencies and/or errors
• Prepare various deliverables to support the preparation of the financial statements and/or quarterly reporting
• Assist with any other ad hoc projects, analysis or analytics as needed
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and minimize inefficiencies by coordinating with counterparts at other company segments
• Execute procedures in accordance with company policies

Minimum Requirements:

• Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, finance or related discipline required
• Minimum 5 years of relevant accounting work experience

Preferred Skills/Competencies

• CPA license (inactive status is acceptable)
• Knowledge of gov't contracting
• Prior experience in various aspects of the GL ranging from manual accruals to AR to cash.
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to multitask.
• Must have the ability to act and operate independently with minimal daily direction from supervisor to accomplish duties.
• Has demonstrated attention to detail and good-record-keeping skills
• Must be a strong Microsoft Excel user and proficient in Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and other Office365 tools.
• Adherence to concepts of teamwork, cooperation, self-control, and flexibility to get work done
• Demonstrated independence and self-motivation to solve problems and work productively
• Prioritizes workload in order to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment
• Ability to maintain good rapport with vendors, consultants, and employees in other functional areas
• Experience working in medium or large ERP systems preferred (not required) - SAP experience a plus!
• Good understanding of US GAAP

#LI-TB1 Our salary ranges are market-driven and set to allow for flexibility. Individual pay will be competitive based on a candidate's unique set of knowledge, skills, and geographic diversity, with earnings potential commensurate with experience. The range for this position is: $74,000.00 - $122,000.00 annually.
