Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough assessments to accurately identify the needs and goals of clients seeking treatment for substance use disorders.

• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that incorporate evidence-based therapeutic interventions tailored to each client's specific needs.

• Utilize therapeutic modalities such as motivational interviewing and cognitive-behavioral therapy during individual counseling sessions to facilitate client engagement and progress.

• Lead group therapy sessions that not only provide support but also foster a sense of community among clients in recovery.

• Collaborate closely with psychiatrists, addiction medicine specialists, and other health care professionals to ensure an integrated approach to treatment, ensuring that all aspects of a client’s health are addressed.

• Provide timely crisis intervention and support during substance-related emergencies to maintain client safety and promote immediate recovery strategies.

• Educate both clients and their families about addiction, recovery processes, available resources, and coping mechanisms to support ongoing recovery.

• Maintain detailed and confidential documentation of client interactions in accordance with legal, ethical, and organizational standards.

• Participate actively in team meetings and case conferences, contributing insights that enhance the overall treatment approach and promote continuous professional growth.

• Stay informed about advancements in the field of substance use treatment by engaging in ongoing continuing education and professional development activities.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

As a Mental Health Therapist, you will work primarily with individuals struggling with substance use disorders. This population often faces complex challenges related to their addiction, including co-occurring mental health issues, social stigmas, and barriers to accessing care. Your empathetic and non-judgmental approach will be essential in building trust and rapport, ultimately contributing to their successful recovery.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.

• A current and valid state licensure as an LCSW, LPCC, or LMFT is mandatory to practice in California.

• Demonstrated knowledge of substance use disorders, recovery-oriented care, and evidence-based treatment modalities, with a focus on creating therapeutic environments.

• Proven experience in delivering both individual and group therapy, particularly within the framework of addiction treatment.

• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills coupled with a non-judgmental and empathetic demeanor.

• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems is an advantage, as is competence in relevant computer applications.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The salary for this position ranges from $115,000 to $130,000 annually, commensurate with experience, plus bonuses designed to reward outstanding performance.
