Job Summary/Overview The Maintenance Lead oversees the daily operations, maintenance, and custodial services across Christian Community Health Center locations, including the Amani House program. This role provides direct leadership and supervision to the Custodial and Maintenance staff, ensuring all facilities are safe, compliant, and well-maintained to support both clinic operations and shelter services. Job Title Maintenance Lead Minimal Qualifications Minimum of 3-5 years of facility maintenance experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role overseeing maintenance staff. Valid Driver’s License, insurance, and reliable transportation to travel between locations. Demonstrated knowledge of basic principles and practices of supervision, training, safety, and risk management. Excellent oral and written communication skills, including grammar and active listening skills. Must possess strong computer skills including word processing (ability to utilize Microsoft Office Suite), compose emails, manage work order databases, and create/edit forms. Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently. Ability, knowledge, and skill to lift up to 50 lbs., bend, climb stairs, and perform general manual labor tasks. Preferred Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent experience in Facilities Management, Business Administration, or a related field. 5-7+ years of relevant facility experience, ideally in healthcare. OSHA Safety Certification, REAC certification or IFMA credentials. Proven track record in multi-site operational management. Responsibilities Include but are not limited to: Supervision & Leadership Provide daily direction, training, and performance management for Custodial and Maintenance staff. Manage staff scheduling, including the approval of time-off requests and oversight of departmental productivity. Lead regular team meetings and maintain communication logs to ensure operational continuity across all sites. Facilities Operations & Strategic Planning Ensure timely completion of repairs in plumbing, carpentry, painting, HVAC, and electrical systems. Coordinate external contractors, oversee facility supplies, and manage the maintenance budget to ensure cost-effectiveness. Develop and implement schedules for asset lifecycles (HVAC, equipment) and seasonal operations, including landscaping and snow removal. Optimize the work order database to track response times, completion rates, and facility downtime. Safety, Risk Management & Compliance Respond to emergency situations (medical, behavioral, fire, severe weather) in accordance with established protocols. Ensure all facilities meet OSHA standards, local building codes, and healthcare facility requirements. Conduct and document monthly fire drills and inspections of smoke alarms and fire extinguishers. Prepare and review incident reports and oversee site sign-in procedures for visitors. Lead and manage Safety Committee. Administrative & Program Support Create and edit facility forms, manage emails, and utilize the Microsoft Office Suite for reporting. Ensure proper room conditions for move-ins/outs and assist with specialized facility needs for shelter programs. Maintain strict program and client confidentiality while treating all individuals with dignity and respect.
