Part-Time Lecturer Pool Position

POSITION AVAILABLE

One or more temporary, part-timelecturers for a pool from which instructors will be considered forappointments as they become available for Fall Semester 2026,and/or Spring Semester 2027.

THE DEPARTMENT

The School of Engineering is part of theCollege of Science. The School offers Bachelor’s degree programs inConstruction Management, Industrial Engineering and ComputerEngineering. We also offer Master’s degree programs in EngineeringManagement and Construction Management. The Construction Managementprogram was established in the Fall of 2010. The degree name isBachelor’s of Science in Construction Management. Through ourgraduates, we have established a strong representation in the BayArea construction industry. This presence has provided our studentsthe opportunity to secure internships, site visits and studentprojects to complement their classroom education. The programenrollment in Fall of 2020 is around 150 undergraduate and 60graduate students.

DUTIES OF THE POSITION

Part-time position teaching in oneor more of the following engineering programs - ConstructionManagement, Industrial Engineering, Engineering Management at bothBachelor’s and Master’s level. Please note that teachingassignments at California State University, East Bay may includecourses at the Hayward campus, Concord Center, and/or online. Thepolicy and expectation of the California State University is thatall faculty members will perform all of their duties within thestate of California.

RANK AND SALARY

Lecturer. Salary is dependent uponeducational preparation and experience. Position appointment issubject to budgetary authorization. Lecturer AY (Range 2) - $5,507 - $6,677 Lecturer AY (Range 3) - $6,221 - $13,224 Lecturer AY (Range 4) - $6,825 - $14,523 Lecturer AY (Range 5) - $8,593 - $15,211 The anticipated hiring range is generally at or near the minimum ofthe appropriate range, commensurate with education andexperience.

DATE OF APPOINTMENT

Fall Semester begins August 17, 2026;Spring Semester begins January 19, 2027.

QUALIFICATIONS

M.S. degree in CivilEngineering/Construction with relevant work experience is required.Ph.D. degree in Civil Engineering/Construction is preferred.
