The Accountant Senior is a key team player in the city's accounting department, performing complex accounting work in all areas of financial reporting and management. Duties include complex reconciliations, interpreting GASB requirements and preparation of month-end closings and year-end audits, as well as the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report. Additionally, this position provides high-level technical support and coordination for the City Treasurer's office, working effectively with city management, departments and external stakeholders. Anticipated starting salary for this position may be up to mid-point depending on candidate's experience and internal equity. The full salary range is listed above and mid-point for this position is $104,748.80 annually.

Minimum Qualifications

Education and Experience

• A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or closely related field from an accredited educational institution.
• Five years of experience in accounting, financial cost analysis, financial forecasting, auditing, or a closely related financial/fiscal activity.
• Any equivalent combination of education and/or job-related experience that meets the minimum qualifications may be substituted.

Licensing, Certifications and Other Requirements

• Every person employed by the City of Scottsdale shall reside in the State of Arizona during his or her active employment by the City, regardless of whether the employee is approved to remote work.

Other pertinent licenses and/or certifications may be required of some positions depending on department/section assignment.
