Orthopedic Physical Therapist Assistant - Full-Time Position

Progressive Rehabilitation Center is actively seeking a dedicated and skilled Orthopedic Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to become an integral part of our team in Coral Springs, Florida. In this full-time role, you will collaborate closely with Physical Therapists to deliver high-quality patient care in our state-of-the-art orthopedic outpatient clinic. Your primary mission will be to assist in implementing rehabilitation programs designed to enhance patient recovery outcomes.

Work Environment

This position is onsite at our modern hospital facility, providing a dynamic environment suited for personal and professional growth. You will be part of a lively team of healthcare professionals, including Physical Therapists, administrative staff, and fellow PTA members, working together towards achieving common patient health goals. The clinic operates Monday through Friday, with a schedule of 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, allowing for a balanced work-life routine.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement Physical Therapist-directed treatment plans effectively, conducting therapy sessions that include exercises aimed at improving strength, flexibility, and pain management.
• Monitor patient progress consistently, documenting improvements and challenges in compliance with treatment protocols, and report findings to the supervising Physical Therapist to adjust plans as necessary.
• Maintain a clean and organized treatment environment, ensuring the proper use and safety of equipment, such as therapeutic modalities and exercise devices.
• Assist with scheduling appointments and provide administrative support, including managing patient records and coordinating between clinical staff.
• Conduct thorough assessments of functional movements, balance, and coordination, utilizing evidence-based practices to guide therapy techniques.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As a PTA in our orthopedic outpatient clinic, you will primarily work with patients recovering from surgeries, injuries, or chronic conditions related to the musculoskeletal system. This involves developing therapeutic relationships with individuals at different stages of their recovery, from post-operative rehabilitation clients to those seeking to improve their physical function and overall well-being.

Qualifications

• Completion of an Associate's Degree in Physical Therapist Assisting (or equivalent education).
• Possession of a current and active PTA license in the state of Florida.
• Strong foundation in rehabilitation principles and practices, demonstrated through prior experience.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of two years of experience in an outpatient setting, specifically in orthopedics, is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems, with specific experience using WebPT preferred.
• Demonstrated proficiency in manual therapy techniques is a significant plus.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to connect empathetically with patients and engage effectively with team members.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary for the Physical Therapist Assistant position ranges from $60,000 to $70,000, contingent upon experience and qualifications.
