Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive assessments, utilizing advanced assessment tools and methodologies to accurately evaluate clients' mental health and substance use issues, with a focus on identifying co-occurring disorders.

• Collaborate with clients to develop and implement individualized treatment plans that incorporate evidence-based therapies and interventions specifically designed for their unique needs.

• Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions focused on developing vital coping skills, relapse prevention strategies, and emotional regulation techniques tailored to each client’s journey.

• Work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team, which includes psychiatrists, nurses, and addiction specialists, to provide coordinated, comprehensive care that addresses both mental health and substance use concerns.

• Regularly monitor clients’ substance use as part of their treatment plan, employing motivational interviewing techniques to encourage ongoing engagement in their recovery process.

• Educate clients and their families about the relationship between mental health and substance use disorders, highlighting the necessity of compliance with treatment for effective outcomes.

• Maintain meticulous and timely documentation on each client’s progress, interventions, and referrals adhering to established ethical and legal standards.

• Participate in continuous professional development through case conferences, staff meetings, and specialized training sessions focused on co-occurring disorders.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your role will primarily focus on adult clients who experience the challenges of co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. Many of our clients seek help due to complex life circumstances impacted by trauma, addiction, or mental health struggles. As a therapist, you'll be instrumental in breaking down the barriers these individuals face and guiding them towards sustainable recovery.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• A current and valid license as an LCSW, LCPC, or LMFT in the state of Illinois is required.

• Demonstrated proficiency in evidence-based therapies associated with co-occurring disorders, such as Integrated Dual Diagnosis Treatment (IDDT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI).

• A robust understanding of the interconnected nature of mental health and substance use disorders.

• Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to work harmoniously within an interdisciplinary team while fostering a compassionate and supportive environment for clients.

Preferred Experience\n
