Safety Support Associate Long Beach, CA 90805 Salary: $21.71 to $26.36 per hour Pay Frequency: 24 Pay Periods Per Year Part-Time Non-Exempt Lower end of range will apply to candidates who meet minimum experience or have limited years of relevant experience. The higher end of range will apply to seasoned candidates with considerable years of relevant experience. The following shift schedules are available** Saturday-Sunday, 7:00am-3:30pm Saturday-Sunday, 3:30pm-11:00pm -- PATH is seeking candidates passionate about helping others make a positive change in their lives to join our Interim Housing Team as the Part-Time Safety Support Associate at the Luxury Inn site in Long Beach, California. About Path Since its foundation in 1984, PATH (People Assisting the Homeless) has pioneered bold and effective approaches to assist people experiencing homelessness. PATH operates services throughout California, connecting our clients to a comprehensive continuum of homelessness prevention, street outreach, employment preparation and placement assistance, individualized case management, supportive services, interim housing, and permanent supportive housing. About The Job As part of the Interim Housing team, the Safety Support Associate proactively works to ensure the Interim Housing site is a safe environment for all staff, program participants, and visitors. This includes monitoring the site’s facilities and grounds for any concerns, building rapport with participants to engage them in maintaining safety at the site, and providing assistance and support when crisis situations arise. Position Responsibilities include: Assist with ensuring the overall safety of the interim housing site using observation, de-escalation strategies, and ongoing participant engagement. Coordinate with the on-site case management team to provide support to the interim housing site. Coordinate with contracted security agencies (if applicable) to ensure the safety of the interim housing site. Conduct regular rounds of the interim housing site and facility grounds and communicate and observe discrepancies or concerns. In collaboration with supervisors and the case management team, respond to interim housing security and/or crisis situations as they arise by utilizing non-violent crisis intervention and verbal de-escalation strategies, including the team approach. Assist with completing reports as necessary or requested. Preferred Qualifications One (1) year experience working with vulnerable populations and/or security and/or deescalation/nonviolent crisis intervention. Minimum Qualifications All levels of experience and education welcome. We are a California employer. Therefore, all regular and customary work must be performed within the state. While some roles may include a schedule that involves multiple designated worksites or approved off-site locations (e.g., hybrid schedules), this does not imply that work will be performed from home. Many positions are fully on-site with no off-site work. All work schedules are determined by the responsibilities of the role and operational requirements, and may be adjusted at any time.
