The RoleGotham Greens is seeking a Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) to lead and scale the company’s commercial business. The CCO is accountable for revenue growth, margin expansion, and market positioning, overseeing Sales, Marketing, Innovation, and Commercial Strategy. This role reports to the CEO.This role owns the full commercial P&L and is responsible for differentiating and translating Gotham Greens’ brand, product quality, and greenhouse-grown model into profitable, predictable growth across retail, food service, and emerging channels.The successful candidate is a hands-on, execution-oriented leader who sets a high bar, drives accountability, and consistently delivers results.What You’ll DoRevenue Growth & Commercial StrategyOwn and deliver annual revenue, gross margin, and contribution targetsDefine and execute the company’s commercial strategy across all channelsIdentify and prioritize growth drivers: distribution, velocity, pricing, mix, and innovationLead annual planning and long-range commercial strategySales & Customer LeadershipLead all sales functions, including national accounts and brokersOwn senior relationships with key customers and distributorsDrive distribution gains; set goals and deliver all MAPS objectives (Merchandising, Assortment, Promotion, Shelving)Establish clear account-level plans with measurable ROI and accountabilityPricing, Trade & Revenue ManagementOwn pricing architecture, trade spend, and promotional strategyDevelop, own, and lead execution of trade spending across all channels, delivering ROI, post-promotion analysis, and budget disciplineEstablish guardrails and improve trade efficiency as a percentage (%) of revenueImprove forecast accuracy and demand signal quality to support operations and growingProduct Strategy, Growth & InnovationOwn portfolio strategy and the innovation and renovation pipelineDevelop a three-year integrated strategic product plan incorporating innovation, costovation, renovation, and customer-select customizationEnsure new products meet clear commercial hurdles (velocity, margin, scalability)Identify and execute new business opportunities and partnershipsMarketing & BrandOversee brand strategy, positioning, and consumer engagementEnsure Gotham Greens’ differentiation translates into value conversion with consumers at shelfAlign marketing investment with measurable commercial outcomesDrive accountability across brand, digital, and shopper marketingCross-Functional Integration and LeadershipPartner closely with Operations and Supply Chain to align demand with greenhouse productionLead the commercial side of Integrated Business Planning (IBP/S&OP)Ensure clear, actionable demand signals that reduce product waste and improve customer fill rate and deliveryBe an active and engaged member of the Gotham Greens Leadership TeamBuild and lead a high-performing commercial organizationEstablish clear goals, metrics, and accountability across teamsIdentifies, leverages, and mentors talent in the short term (projects/initiatives) and long term (development and succession)Create a performance-driven, data-oriented cultureWho You AreAt least 5 years in a commercial leadership role, including 2+ years at VP level or aboveProven experience leading both Sales and MarketingStrong track record of delivering revenue and margin growth in CPG, fresh food, or produceExperience in perishable or supply-constrained categories strongly preferredDeep familiarity with major retailers and distribution partnersStrong financial and analytical acumen (pricing, trade, ROI)Inquisitive and analytical thinkerExcellent verbal and written communication skillsHigh ownership mindset with a bias for actionSelf-starter; Data-driven and results-orientedDecisive, action-oriented operator — comfortable setting and translating strategy and executing objectivesAble to drive cross-functional alignment, especially with Operations stakeholdersBuilds credibility and trust quickly both internally and externallyWholesome mix of humility, confidence, flexibility and integrity; Believer in Gotham Greens’ ValuesCompensation & BenefitsBase annual salary starting at $250,000 (commensurate with experience)Annual target bonusComprehensive health benefits (medical, dental, vision)Commuter/transit and dependent care FSA plans401(k)Equity/management incentive optionsPTOBrooklyn, NY (HQ) or Remote; Travel as neededWHO WE AREGotham Greens is on a mission to transform how and where fresh produce is grown.
