Make a difference this school year by supporting a bright and eager kindergarten student in mastering essential fine motor skills. This contract, part-time opportunity is designed for a compassionate Occupational Therapist seeking flexibility and a rewarding hands-on experience in a school setting.
In this role, you’ll work directly with a very smart young learner who could use a little extra guidance with tasks like holding a pencil and other foundational skills vital for classroom success. With only a few hours per week required, you’ll enjoy a manageable workload and the freedom to set your own schedule—days and times are flexible based on your availability.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid Occupational Therapy license in IL
- Previous experience in a school environment preferred
- Expertise in assessing and supporting fine motor skill development
- Ability to adapt strategies to individual student's needs
- Strong communication skills for collaboration with teachers and families
- Compassion, patience, and creativity in working with young children
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess current fine motor skill levels and develop individualized sessions
- Implement engaging, evidence-based interventions to help the student improve tasks like holding a pencil, cutting, and other classroom activities
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and parents to monitor progress and adjust strategies as needed
- Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with school standards
- Foster a supportive and fun learning atmosphere to encourage growth and confidence in the student
