Cook - Prep

Job Summary:The Prep Cook assists in the preparation of various dishes in the kitchen. They perform routine kitchen tasks such as setting up workstations and preparing ingredients efficiently within the established “Lev Group” standards.Essential Job Functions; include but not limited to:Follow the prep list created by chefs to plan dutiesLabel and stock all ingredients on shelves so they can be organized and easily accessibleMeasure ingredients and seasonings to be used in cookingUndertake basic cooking duties such as reducing sauces, parboiling food etc.Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, taking out trash etc.Ensure all food and other items are stored properlyComply with nutrition and sanitation guidelinesPerform other kitchen duties as assignedPossess a can-do attitude, is passionate and strives for excellenceAll other job duties assignedQualifications:Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and proceduresKnowledge of health and safety rules in a kitchenMust be able to perform in a fast-paced kitchen environmentPhysical Requirements:Ability to traverse all parts of the restaurant quicklyAbility to stand for prolonged periods of time. In some instances, the entire shiftAble to lift at least but not limited to 50 pounds and if more must be with assistanceRead and visually verify information in a variety of formats (e.g., small print)Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines (e.g., to identify defects)Ability to move quickly turning from left to right or right to leftFlexibility in the wrist to scoop, twist, push, pull, lift, and bendExposure to extreme heat, steam, and cold present in a kitchen environmentReach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stoopingAbility to be mobile in walk-in refrigerator and freezer with temperatures ranging from 40° F to -10° FEducation and Required Experience:High School diploma or general education degree (GED)Minimum 2 years kitchen preparation and experience;(or) equivalent combination of education and experienceThe LEV Restaurant Group was founded in 2002 as a vehicle to inspire, create, develop and operate world class experiences for food & beverage concepts in the Restaurant Industry.
