The Business Development Director is a customer-facing leadership role focused on sales growth, pipeline development, and the identification of customer and market needs in the Tobacco/Nicotine segment . This individual possesses “enterprise anxiety” ownership for the business results and performance related to this market, with Business Contribution and doubling growth top of mind. This position is primarily responsible for: ownership of business contribution for direct accounts, customer and industry relationships, strategic account planning, identification of innovation needs, customer contact, and communication. Their primary goal is to establish sustained profitable growth in the Tobacco/Nicotine Segment resulting in market superiority.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Leads MANE’s customer-facing activities in the following areas: Directly responsible for a group of key target accounts and customer relationships. Here the role maintains a portfolio of direct accounts, builds relationships, and account strategies with each and develops and maintains a strong pipeline of growth. The role is directly responsible for this group of accounts as the CEO of these accounts. In this role the Business Development Director also is the “face of MANE ” to the industry at key industry events and interface points. Strategy Development in conjunction with the Global TBU Director. Here the role works closely with the sales, applications and marketing teams to provide the “customer and market voice” for technology needs, market needs, new business models, and other areas in order to meet needs and growth targets. The Business Development Director assists in the development of overall market strategy and new market identification and planning. Deliver against a clear, integrated market-focused strategy developed by the Category to attain targeted business results, including customer-driving revenue and growth for the Global TBU and the company. Ownership of business contribution for direct accounts, customer and industry relationships, strategic account planning, identification of innovation needs, customer contact, and communication. Their primary goal is to establish sustained profitable growth in the Tobacco/Nicotine Segment resulting in market superiority. Build and leverage customer relationships and sales in the Tobacco/Nicotine segment. Develop in-depth industry knowledge, contacts, and relationships to advance MANE’s brand and position in the industry Create and sustain momentum within the business segment. Work closely with both USA and France legal teams due to the contractual nature of the business Handle a list of targeted accounts directly to achieve maximum attention and growth for the Business Unit. Work to drive market penetration, strategic business acquisition, and the development of customer-specific growth strategies. Establish competitive pricing that supports corporate objectives. Work with functional managers to optimize and implement strategic plans. Work with the team (applications and marketing) to identify MANE’s unique capabilities and solutions in order to leverage MANE’s success in the marketplace. Seek and suggest novel market opportunities and business models in alignment with the Global TBU strategy to support growth initiatives. Assess, analyze, and communicate customer needs and industry trends, providing the “customer voice” to the team. Understand the competitive environment and utilize knowledge to leverage MANE’s opportunities and develop strategic customer action plans. Identify and develop opportunities to differentiate MANE in the marketplace through support activities that add value to our core offering. Serve as subject‑matter expert in terms of customer trends and developments and ensure that the Global TBU team is aware of any trending patterns. Actively participate in industry associations relevant to the market segment, professional organizations, or flavor industry associations. Actively demonstrate willingness, ability, growth, future potential, financial contribution, and commitment to MANE . Continually grow and develop through continuing education courses and learning opportunities offered through MANE and outside professional organizations. Actively participate in Tobacco exhibitions Other duties in support of company objectives Consistent with MANE’s environmental commitments, every employee shall actively participate in relevant education/training based upon corporate and local environmental objectives. Where these objectives are relevant to job‑related and job‑specific roles and responsibilities, each employee shall adhere to applicable environmental policies and procedures, as well as act on best practices.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Must understand the appropriate level of urgency based on the needs of the customer and the alignment with the Tobacco/Nicotine Category goals; must demonstrate urgency and responsiveness to address customer and business group needs expeditiously and effectively. The ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining the ability to redirect efforts based upon shifting demands. Ability to collaborate and network with business colleagues to build constructive, proactive working relationships across the organization. Provides optimistic, enthusiastic, innovative customer leadership skills to MANE GBTU. Facilitate teamwork to provide solutions that exceed customer’s expectations for quality and service. Develops and implements proactive customer technical relationship building strategies including regular personal contact. Must be able to communicate (verbal and written) those technical aspects pertaining to the Market in understandable terms for customers (internal and external). Software proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, CRM systems. Ability to work with all tools above without direction. Home office-based position.
