Imagine the power of your next career move bringing purpose and clarity to so many lives. As a Speech Language Pathologist in the charming city of Fort Wayne, your work extends beyond merely addressing communication and swallowing disorders; you will transform potential into achievements, nurtured by compassion from childhood to the golden years. Here, you will play a pivotal role in helping children articulate their first words and empowering seniors to regain their independence.
This position offers a singular chance to engage with diverse age groups within a setting that artfully weaves together outpatient therapy with occasional inpatient care. Whether your interest lies in fostering pediatric speech development, tackling adult neurogenic communication challenges, or specializing in geriatric cognitive-linguistic rehabilitation, the opportunities await you in this supportive environment.
Conduct thorough evaluations for patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric age groups utilizing standardized assessments alongside observative techniques.
Create tailored treatment plans that cater to both immediate targets and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing challenges.
Deliver personalized speech therapy interventions that concentrate on communication, language, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing techniques.
Collaborate closely with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and family members to form an integrated approach to patient care.
Supply education to patients and their families to encourage progress beyond clinical interactions.
Participate in occasional inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions, ensuring a seamless continuum of care throughout the therapy process.
Document and maintain accurate records that align with state, federal, and organizational standards.
Stay abreast of the latest advancements in the field through ongoing education and collaboration with peers.
A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
Successful completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is still pending.
State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of starting the position.
Expertise in evidence-driven treatment methods suitable for all ages, coupled with a deep understanding of both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
Exceptional communication skills to establish rapport with patients, family members, and interdisciplinary teams.
Adept at modifying therapy methods to cater to a blend of cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
Strong clinical judgment and analytical thinking skills.
Familiarity with electronic medical records and documentation procedures.
A competitive salary reflective of experience.
Flexible scheduling aimed at promoting work-life harmony alongside a diverse client base.
Opportunities to focus on pediatrics, adult neuro rehab, or geriatric care based on your passion.
Paid time off (PTO) and holiday compensation.
Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance choices.
Support for continuing education expenses and professional growth initiatives.
A collaborative, team-focused atmosphere prioritizing exceptional care and ongoing education.
