In this hands‑on role, you will oversee the day‑to‑day administration of HR operations, including payroll, benefits, compliance, employee records, and people processes, while providing thoughtful support to leadership on workforce planning and organizational needs. Flamingo Estate is seeking an experienced, bilingual HR Manager to lead the day‑to‑day operations of our growing people function. This hands‑on role is responsible for payroll, benefits administration, HR compliance, employee relations, contractor management, and HR reporting, while helping build and refine the systems, policies, and processes that support a thriving workplace. The ideal candidate has experience in small to mid‑size, high‑growth organizations, strong knowledge of California employment laws, and the ability to work independently while fostering a people‑first culture. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys creating structure, improving processes, and partnering with leadership to support employee engagement and organizational growth. Day to Day Manage payroll, benefits administration, and HR reporting for employees and contractors. Ensure compliance with California employment laws and maintain accurate HR records and documentation. Lead onboarding and offboarding processes for employees and contractors. Serve as the primary point of contact for HR systems, vendors, and external partners. Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies, procedures, and employee handbook updates. Partner with leadership to ensure fair, consistent people practices and support organizational growth. Support employee relations matters, including performance management, investigations, issue resolution, and sensitive employee concerns. Coordinate workforce planning, compensation reviews, role leveling, and internal promotions. Facilitate training, compliance programs, and HR education initiatives. Foster a positive, inclusive, and values‑driven workplace culture. Requirements 5+ years of HR experience, ideally within small to mid‑sized companies (40–100 employees). Strong working knowledge of California labor laws and HR compliance requirements. Experience managing payroll, benefits, 401(k), and contractor vs. employee classification.
