HR Assistant

Prairie Eye & LASIK is seeking a reliable and highly organized HR Generalist / HR Assistant to support the daily functions of our Human Resources department. This position works directly under the Operations Director and plays a key role in assisting with HR processes across our multi-location ophthalmology practice. Key Responsibilities Provide day‑to‑day administrative support to the HR function and Operations Director Assist with recruitment efforts, including posting jobs, reviewing applications, scheduling interviews, and communicating with candidates Support onboarding processes, including preparing new hire paperwork, coordinating orientation, and ensuring completion of required documentation Maintain and update employee records in HR systems, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality Assist employees with basic HR‑related questions and direct more complex issues to leadership as appropriate Help coordinate employee training, compliance requirements, and credentialing documentation (HIPAA, OSHA, etc.) Support benefits administration by assisting with enrollments, changes, and employee inquiries Assist with payroll preparation by ensuring accurate employee data and time‑off tracking Help track PTO requests, attendance, and other employee data Support performance management processes by assisting with documentation and scheduling Assist in maintaining and updating HR policies, procedures, and employee handbook materials Help organize employee engagement initiatives, meetings, and internal communications Responsible for corporate safety, including drills (fire, tornado) Qualifications 1–3 years of administrative or HR support experience preferred Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment Full‑time, Monday–Friday May require occasional travel between clinic locations Fast‑paced, team‑oriented healthcare setting Benefits Competitive compensation Paid Time Off Paid holidays Health Insurance for full‑time employees Dental Insurance for full‑time employees Vision Insurance for full‑time employees Employer‑Paid Life Insurance for full‑time employees Employee Assistance Program Voluntary Benefit Plans offered to full‑ and part‑time employees Wellness Program Free continuing education through our Learning Management System Great team to work alongside! *Further benefit details listed on total rewards guide Pay Range $18.00 - $20.00 / hour Pay Transparency In order to support the Fair Compensation Strategy by the U.S. government, HR Dept. requires that employers list the salary ranges in job advertisements or postings for job opportunities and job promotions in the impacted states.
