As part of our virtual team, you will have access to advanced technology and electronic health record systems like AVATAR to track patient progress, document sessions, and collaborate efficiently with other healthcare professionals. You will be well-equipped to interact with clients through secure video conferencing platforms, ensuring privacy and confidentiality. Key Responsibilities\n \n Conduct detailed preliminary interviews and comprehensive assessments to document mental, behavioral, and emotional health during initial consultations. \n Formulate individualized intervention and recovery plans designed for clients including individuals, couples, families, and groups. \n Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, employing evidence-based therapeutic techniques and interventions. \n Regularly monitor and evaluate client progress throughout treatment, making adjustments as needed to meet established goals. \n Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of mental health specialists, physicians, and social workers to synchronize treatment efforts. \n Follow up with psychiatrists and medical doctors for clients requiring hospitalization, ensuring continuity of care. \n Proactively identify behaviors and patterns that may hinder recovery, implementing strategies to mitigate these risks. \n Support family members and primary caregivers in understanding and managing mental health challenges effectively. \n Patient Population / Client Focus\n Our clientele includes individuals grappling with a wide range of mental health issues, from anxiety and depression to severe psychological conditions. Many clients also face co-occurring disorders, such as substance abuse and chronic illness. Our counselors are trained to provide a compassionate, non-judgmental atmosphere where clients can openly discuss their experiences, empower them through therapy, and assist in their journey toward recovery. Qualifications\n \n A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution. \n Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Illinois. \n Successful completion of the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE). \n Strong foundational knowledge of current mental health practices and a commitment to ongoing professional development. \n Proficiency with electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR, to document patient interactions and treatment plans. \n Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on building rapport and trust with clients. \n Preferred Experience\n \n Previous experience as a mental health counselor, showcasing a solid background in diverse therapeutic modalities. \n Familiarity with the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) best practices and ethical standards. \n In-depth understanding of the effects of psychotropic medications and the ability to communicate this knowledge to clients effectively. \n Experience working with clients experiencing both mental health disorders and substance use issues. \n Compensation and Benefits\n The compensation package for this full-time position ranges from $80,000 to $100,000 annually, reflective of your experience and qualifications.
