Merck's Research and Development division seeks an intern to support digital transformation in bioanalytical sciences. The role involves converting test method documents into standardized Benchling templates to improve laboratory workflow documentation, data quality, and operational efficiency in a regulated environment.
Responsibilities
- Review prioritized Test Method documents to identify assay workflows, data fields, and documentation requirements
- Translate Test Method content into standardized, reusable Benchling templates for structured laboratory workflows
- Collaborate with scientists and process owners to ensure templates reflect method requirements and user needs
- Develop user guidance and documentation to support template adoption and laboratory workflow standardization
- Present project outcomes and recommendations through written reports and end-of-summer symposium presentation
Requirements
- Currently pursuing Bachelor's in biomedical engineering, computer science, data science, bioinformatics, information systems, or related discipline
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail
- Ability to organize and translate complex technical information into structured formats
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Comfort with digital tools, spreadsheets, and template-based systems
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
Compensation: $39,108–$111,111
