NSC Staffing is seeking an experienced Planner/Scheduler to support shipbuilding projects in San Diego, CA. This is a high-priority role with immediate openings. We are looking for proactive professionals who can develop, monitor, and manage project schedules to ensure on-time delivery. Shipbuilding experience is strongly preferred, as it will enhance the ability to forecast labor hours, track progress, and mitigate risks caused by change orders or engineering revisions.


Position Overview:
As a Planner/Scheduler, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining accurate project schedules using Microsoft Project. You will work closely with multiple departments to gather data, forecast workload, and identify potential risks to project timelines. Your ability to manage complex schedules and communicate effectively with stakeholders will be critical in driving successful project execution.



Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, update, and maintain detailed project schedules using Microsoft Project.
• Coordinate with engineering, production, and other departments to gather accurate schedule data.
• Forecast labor hours and resources to align with project milestones.
• Monitor and identify schedule risks, delays, or conflicts early, and recommend corrective actions.
• Track and report schedule impacts caused by change orders, engineering revisions, and discrepancies.
• Provide project stakeholders with timely schedule updates and progress reports.
• Support the project management team in ensuring deadlines and deliverables are met.

Qualifications & Experience:

• 2-5 years of experience in planning and scheduling, preferably in shipbuilding or related industries.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Project required.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to identify risks, manage multiple priorities, and adapt to changing project conditions.
• Effective communication skills (verbal and written) with cross-functional teams.
• Self-starter who takes initiative and works independently while collaborating with stakeholders.

Work Environment:
This position requires working closely with engineering, production, and project management teams in a shipyard/marine environment. Attention to detail, adaptability, and proactive problem-solving are essential to success in this role.
