Data Analyst, Bureau of Hepatitis, HIV, and STI

Data Analyst – Research & Evaluation Unit Reporting to a Senior Research Analyst and working closely with another analyst and a team responsible for program oversight, this Data Analyst will contribute to evaluation and reporting for federally funded health and housing programs and assist with other projects as needed. Responsibilities Support data‑driven management and standardized, federally and state‑compliant HIV services provider reporting. Contribute to data systems specifications, documentation, testing, data collection tools, and user support/technical assistance. Assist with developing, maintaining, and presenting standard reports for the HIV Care and Treatment Program and its stakeholders. Participate in core unit activities, including cleaning, managing, matching, analyzing and displaying process and outcomes data, and responding to ad‑hoc data requests using analytic software packages (primarily SAS). Help integrate data from different systems as needed to ensure data quality and completeness. Contribute to every stage of the research and evaluation process, from building systems for data collection, to analysis, to producing reports, presentations, and papers for public dissemination. Serve in local public health responses to emergencies. Preferred Skills Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Knowledge of SAS (programming and analysis), Tableau (data visualization), Adobe Acrobat, and Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other MS Office software. Appreciation for data quality and program quality management. Minimum Qualifications For Assignment Level I: Master’s degree from an accredited college or university with a specialization in an appropriate field of physical, biological, or environmental science or in public health. For Assignment Level II and above: Doctorate degree with one year of full‑time supervisory, administrative or research experience, or Master’s degree with three years of full‑time research experience, or Education and/or experience equivalent to the above. All candidates must have at least a Master’s degree and at least two years of experience described in the higher assignment criteria above. Two years as a City Research Scientist Level I can be substituted for the required experience. Benefits Loan forgiveness and repayment assistance programs may be available.
