Account Manager - Food & Nutraceutical

Objective / Purpose The Account Manager will have knowledge and experience selling food and nutraceutical applications. The selected candidate will be responsible for working in partnership with customers to grow sales and deepen accounts within food and nutraceutical industries. Areas of Responsibility / Tasks Practices principles of food safety, quality, and continuous improvement under GFSI guidelines and cGMP practices. Grow revenue by developing existing accounts and sourcing new customers within the Functional Food and Nutraceutical industries. Establish and maintain strong customer relationships. Manage project cycles from lead generation to sales closure. Thoroughly understand customer needs and market dynamics to become a go-to expert for your customers. Develop networks within companies for multi-level selling to buying influences. Develop and maintain strong client relationships with key decision makers including procurement, customer service, marketing/product management, R&D, and quality assurance. Develop sales territory in line with annual sales budget and forecast to achieve budget. Generate new business and solicit new customers and product opportunities. Continuously monitor and appraise emerging products or trends to identify and report on business opportunities. Work closely with customers, supportive and helpful while retaining confidentiality and implementing agreed product strategies. Liaise with colleagues internally to keep updated with developments regarding orders, samples, quotations, shipment follow-up, etc. Provide visit reports with detailed information of items discussed, competitive info, and industry developments. Represent company at industry-related trade shows and functions. Identify opportunities with customers where company can offer technology solutions that add value. Digital acumen with excellent computer skills using CRM and Microsoft products. Competencies; Knowledge, Skills, Abilities (KSA) Self‑motivated, works well independently, and organized. Strong analytical and problem identification/resolution skills. Attentive to detail, thorough with minimal errors. Maintains high level of visual attention and mental concentration for significant periods. Ability to manipulate necessary office equipment, computers, and peripherals. Business acumen: understands business implications of decisions, orientation to profitability, demonstrates knowledge of market and competition, aligns work with strategic goals. Digital acumen: excellent computer skills using CRM, LinkedIn, and Microsoft products. Professionalism: approaches others tactfully, reacts well under pressure, treats others with respect and consideration regardless of status or position, accepts responsibility, follows through on commitments. Minimum Qualifications / Education / Experience / Certifications Education: BS degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, Business Administration, or related field. Experience: 3 plus years of sales experience, specialty ingredients to food, beverage, nutrition and dairy manufacturers. Knowledge of how vitamins work, how they need to be dosed in different food applications, how they are analyzed and involvement in vitamin pre‑blends. Must have strong understanding of nutritional ingredients and excellent negotiating skills. Ability to discuss technical concepts with R&D and convey features and benefits. Systems Experience: Proficient in CRM. Microsoft suite: Outlook, Excel, Teams, SharePoint, PowerPoint. Language: Proficiency in English required.
