Precision CNC Lathe Setup Machinist — Rockford, IL

Ready to own the setup and quality of precision-turned parts? Step into a role where your expertise on CNC lathes drives production and your eye for detail keeps tolerances tight.

Your impact

Set up and operate CNC lathes plus supporting machining equipment.
Translate blueprints, part drawings, and routings into efficient setups.
Load/unload programs; manage edits and offsets to optimize results.
Execute in-process checks and final inspections to confirm quality.
Communicate production risks; propose process improvements.
Troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime and scrap.
Complete routine maintenance to sustain machine performance.
Keep the workspace clean, safe, and organized; support team output goals.

Must-haves

HS Diploma.
2–5+ years of CNC lathe experience.
Proficiency reading and interpreting blueprints.

Nice-to-haves

Hands-on experience with CNC Puma, Daewoo, and/or Mazak machines.
Mastercam experience.

Pay, type, and schedule

Pay: $25.00 – $35.00/hour, plus 10% premium for 2nd shift.
Employment Type: Full-Time, On-Site; 1st & 2nd Shift.
Location: Rockford, IL.
1st Shift: Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
2nd Shift: Monday – Friday, 4:30 p.m. – 3:00 a.m.
