Position Overview
We are partnering with a growing retail organization to hire an Accounts Payable Specialist on a contract-to-hire basis. This role supports a high-volume AP environment and is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative office setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Process a high volume of vendor invoices (approximately 300500 per week) with accuracy and efficiency
- Perform three-way matching of invoices, purchase orders, and receiving documents
- Review and reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
- Monitor automated invoice queues and manually process exceptions as needed
- Communicate with vendors and internal teams regarding invoice status and payment issues
- Support account reconciliations and assist with month-end AP close activities
- Collaborate with retail locations and internal departments to resolve billing questions
- Maintain organized and accurate AP documentation
- Use Excel for basic reporting and data analysis
- Assist with ongoing improvements and automation initiatives within the AP function
Qualifications
- 2+ years of accounts payable experience in a high-volume environment
- Hands-on experience with three-way matching and account reconciliations
- Basic to intermediate Excel skills (including VLOOKUPs and pivot tables)
- Experience working within an ERP system (retail or distribution systems a plus)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities
- Comfortable working fully onsite in a corporate office environment
- Degree not required
