Accounts Payable Specialist (Contract-to-Hire)

Location: Gardena, CA (Onsite) Pay Rate: $25-$29 per hour Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Position Overview


We are partnering with a growing retail organization to hire an Accounts Payable Specialist on a contract-to-hire basis. This role supports a high-volume AP environment and is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative office setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Process a high volume of vendor invoices (approximately 300-500 per week ) with accuracy and efficiency
• Perform three-way matching of invoices, purchase orders, and receiving documents
• Review and reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
• Monitor automated invoice queues and manually process exceptions as needed
• Communicate with vendors and internal teams regarding invoice status and payment issues
• Support account reconciliations and assist with month-end AP close activities
• Collaborate with retail locations and internal departments to resolve billing questions
• Maintain organized and accurate AP documentation
• Use Excel for basic reporting and data analysis
• Assist with ongoing improvements and automation initiatives within the AP function

Qualifications

• 2+ years of accounts payable experience in a high-volume environment
• Hands-on experience with three-way matching and account reconciliations
• Basic to intermediate Excel skills (including VLOOKUPs and pivot tables)
• Experience working within an ERP system (retail or distribution systems a plus)
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities
• Comfortable working fully onsite in a corporate office environment
• Degree not required

Pay Details: $25.00 to $29.00 per hour
