Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provide specialized nursing care to neuro patients in a hospital setting, monitoring neurological status and ensuring optimal patient outcomes. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive care in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Assess neurological symptoms and baseline patient conditions upon admission and throughout shifts.
• Administer medications, treatments, and interventions in accordance with physician orders and established protocols.
• Utilize Epic charting system to document patient progress, treatments, and responses accurately.
• Monitor patient vital signs, telemetry, and oximetry to swiftly identify any changes requiring intervention.
• Educate patients and their families regarding neurological conditions, recovery processes, and post-discharge care.
• Adhere to safety protocols and maintain compliance with hospital and regulatory standards.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid State or Compact RN license in good standing.
• Possess a minimum of 2 years of recent Medical Surgical nursing experience, preferably in neuro units.
• Demonstrate proficiency with Epic electronic health record system and neuro monitoring equipment.
• Be certified in NIHSS and BLSP or willing to obtain within onboarding period.
• Exhibit strong assessment skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
