Role Description The Senior Accountant is a full-time, on-site role based in the Buffalo-Niagara Falls Area. This position is responsible for overseeing general ledger activities, preparing and reviewing journal entries, and ensuring timely and accurate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closings. The Senior Accountant will manage financial reporting, support budgeting and forecasting, and perform variance and cost analyses relevant to manufacturing operations. Daily responsibilities include reconciling accounts, maintaining internal controls, assisting with audits, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies. The role also collaborates with operations, purchasing, and leadership to provide financial insights, improve processes, and support strategic decision-making. Qualifications Strong knowledge of accounting principles, including GAAP, general ledger management, and financial reporting. Experience with budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and cost accounting in a manufacturing or industrial environment. Proficiency with accounting and ERP systems, as well as intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and related tools. Ability to analyze complex financial data, produce accurate reports, and present findings clearly to cross-functional teams. Demonstrated attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Effective verbal and written communication skills, with a collaborative approach to working across departments. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification is a plus. Prior experience in a senior or advanced accounting role, preferably within manufacturing or precision component industries.
