Category Manager - Swim

Job Summary We are seeking a product‑obsessed Category Manager to own and grow Coolibar’s Swim business end to end. In this role, you will be solely focused on the Swim category; owning the assortment, pricing, and strategy across all Swim user group. You’ll combine sharp product intuition with data‑driven decision‑making to build a high‑performing assortment that delights users and accelerates Coolibar’s Swim growth. You will work closely with Design, Product Development, Production, E‑Commerce, Marketing, and Finance to ensure every style is executed on brief, on margin, and on time. Success in this role means making Swim one of Coolibar’s strongest and most commercially productive categories. Key Responsibilities Manage and scale Coolibar’s Swim assortment across our user groups from product ideation to launch, working closely with all cross‑functional partners to drive category success. Curate an assortment that delivers on revenue, margin, and quality targets while addressing the real needs and usage patterns of our users. Own pricing strategy across all user groups, making sure each user group has a clear pricing approach that ladders up to company growth targets and margin goals. Leverage data, user insights, and category trends to build, optimize, and scale the assortment, analyzing performance, refining product mix, and making evidence‑based decisions. Own the go‑to‑market strategy for your category, leading E‑Commerce and Marketing partners from product brief through launch and sell‑through to ensure compelling storytelling and commercial execution. Partner with Finance to review P&L and margin targets across the assortment. Lead cross‑functional collaboration, serving as the merchandising expert and advocate for the user. Drive continuous improvement in processes, tools, and systems to enhance team efficiency and decision‑making. What Success Looks Like Revenue, margin, and sell‑through targets are met or exceeded across the Swim category. New product launches on time, on brief, and with clear commercial rationale tied to user needs. Cross‑functional partners; Design, PD, E‑Commerce, Marketing consistently describe you as a clear, decisive, and collaborative counterpart. Qualifications 5 to 7+ years of retail merchandising, category management, or buying experience in apparel, lifestyle, or active categories. Direct experience in apparel, lifestyle, or active categories. Your specific background helps us define which category you’ll own. Product obsessed, with experience leveraging data tools and external sources. Critical eye to anticipate user needs (both the science and the art of merchandising). Strong commercial discipline. You own P&L and outcomes, not just process. Track record of building and scaling categories, owning P&L and driving growth. Experience in swim, activewear, or technical apparel strongly preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Continuous learner and highly curious, always open to considering new perspectives.
