Work Environment\n

As a Mental Health Counselor at Paragon Behavioral Health Center, you will work in a fully remote telehealth setting, allowing you the flexibility to connect with patients from anywhere. Our practice operates primarily Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with some schedule adjustments possible based on patient needs. This setting promotes a balance between quality patient interaction and personal well-being, making it ideal for both new and seasoned professionals.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments to identify patient needs and develop individualized treatment plans based on those assessments.

• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused Therapy to deliver effective counseling services to individuals, couples, and families.

• Facilitate psychoeducational and support group sessions aimed at providing community and addressing common mental health issues among participants.
\n
• Work collaboratively with psychiatrists, psychologists, and other interdisciplinary team members to ensure holistic and coordinated care for each patient.

• Provide crisis intervention services for patients experiencing mental health emergencies, ensuring immediate support and safety.
\n
• Educate patients on mental health diagnoses, treatment options, and available community resources, empowering them to take an active role in their recovery.

• Maintain detailed, accurate, and confidential patient records in compliance with legal and ethical standards using electronic health record (EHR) systems.

• Participate actively in case consultations, team meetings, and professional development activities to foster clinical growth and collaboration.

• Stay informed about advancements and research in mental health practices to continuously enhance treatment efficacy.

Qualifications\n

• A Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, or a related field is required.

• Current and valid licensure as an LCMFT, LMFT, LCPC, or LCSW-C in the state of Maryland is essential.

• A strong knowledge base of mental health disorders and evidence-based treatment modalities is required.

• Proven experience in conducting mental health assessments and crafting effective treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs.
