Staff Accountant

We’re looking for a self-starter with attention to detail to join our team. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Finance, you’ll further your finance experience by assisting in the preparation of accurate and timely financial reports, overseeing daily operation of the accounting department activities and internal control procedures ensuring compliance with all Federal, State and local regulations. WHAT’S IN YOUR DNA Hands‑on attitude, with attention to detail Extensive knowledge of finance functions built on prior experience YOUR EXPERIENCE Excellent interpersonal and communication experience, both verbal & written Must be highly organized and well versed in completing paperwork Will be an excellent team player whilst having first class attention to detail NUTS AND BOLTS OF THE JOB Prepare, record, and process accounts payable and cash disbursement, and accounts receivable and cash receipts Prepare allocation tables for indirect expenses and revenue items as needed Maintains required records, reports, and files in an organized manner. Gathers pertinent data pertaining to inventories, accounts payable accruals, and any other information necessary to prepare relevant journal entries Review credit card refunds to ensure legitimate refunds Other duties as assigned by management Assist in the posting of accounts to the general ledger for accounts receivable, cash receipts, accounts payable and cash disbursements Review open invoice reports and follow up with a schedule of payments or adjustments Assist with the year‑end financial audit Responds to questions from managers and employees.
