As a Senior Accountant , you’ll play an important role in maintaining the financial integrity of an organization dedicated to helping patients and communities. This is an opportunity for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys digging into the details, solving problems and collaborating across an organization. What You’ll Do As a Senior Accountant, you will: Provide accounting support across multiple areas of the business, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger accounting and account reconciliations. Prepare statistical, financial and ad hoc reports. Review detailed financial transactions and record necessary adjustments. Analyze financial statement variances, identify omitted entries and recognize the need for accruals. Prepare journal entries for monthly financial activity. Reconcile and analyze balance sheet and bank accounts and recommend appropriate adjustments. Prepare and file sales and use tax, business license, property tax and other governmental filings, escalating tax issues when appropriate. Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules and documentation. Participate in financial system updates and potentially serve as a subject matter expert. Identify process-improvement opportunities and help drive changes that improve department operations. REQUIREMENTS: KNOWLEDGE/EDUCATION Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Accounting degree preferred. CPA or CPA in progress preferred. LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS None. EXPERIENCE Three years of accounting experience required. SKILLS/ABILITIES Ability to work in a collaborative environment and with all levels of staff and leadership. Effective oral and written communication skills. Strong organization, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Ability to execute multiple priorities and a variable workload throughout the month. Proficient in Excel and other financial tools and systems. Aptitude to hold self and others accountable to meet deadlines.
