COMMERCIAL MUSIC: Adjunct / Substitute Instructor POOL (college credit)

Working Title Adjunct Faculty Part‑time/temporary faculty positions offer flexible hours and the opportunity to assist a diverse group of adult students in achieving their educational goals. These positions are as‑needed and applicants should live within commuting distance to San Diego. Assignments may include day, evening, weekend, and/or off‑campus classes. Salary is based on the Adjunct College Salary Schedule. Proper placement requires receipt of official transcripts or degree evaluations. Initial placement will be at the first class/step pending submission of official documentation. Major Responsibilities Provide instruction in accordance with established curriculum and course outlines. Maintain appropriate standards of professional conduct and ethics. Keep current knowledge in subject matter areas. Be available to students outside of class as needed. Teach all scheduled classes. Maintain accurate records. Create an environment that encourages free discussion of ideas, interests, and issues. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree AND two (2) years of professional experience directly related to the area of assignment. Associate degree AND six (6) years of professional experience directly related to the area of assignment. Demonstrated cultural competency and sensitivity to diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students and staff. Desired Qualifications Equivalency: If you do not possess the exact degrees listed above or expect to receive the required degree prior to the start of teaching classes, complete a Request for Equivalency Form and attach it during the application process. Foreign degrees must be evaluated by a professional association that is a member of NACES or ACEI. Submit a copy of the evaluation with your application.
