Physical Therapist Full Time Professional Salinas, CA, US Salary Range: $107,000.00 To $132,000.00 Annually SVH Physical Therapy Monday - Friday SUMMARY The Physical Therapist provides therapy treatments in a professional, efficient, and therapeutic manner. Use many different types of equipment and procedures. Utilization of manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, gait training, patient education, and modalities. They may be required to do some office work, answer the telephone, and take messages. Supervision and training of Physical Therapy Assistants and Physical Therapy Aides are also required. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Includes but not limited to the following: Meets the patients’ goals and needs and provides quality care by assessing and interpreting evaluations and test results; determining therapy treatment plans in consultation with physicians or by prescription. Assist patients in the accomplishment of treatment plans and goals. Implement therapeutic devices by administering exercises; instructing, encouraging, and assisting patients in performing physical activities and daily living activities. Evaluates effects of therapy treatments by observing, noting, and evaluating patients’ progress; recommending adjustments and modifications. Completes discharge planning by consulting with physicians, medical assistants, and other health care workers; contributes to patient care conferences. Assures continuation of therapeutic plan following discharge by designing home exercise programs; instructing patients, families, and caregivers in home exercise programs; recommending and/or providing assistive equipment; recommending outpatient or home health follow-up programs. Documents patient care services in a timely manner by charting in patient and department records in compliance with Medicare guidelines. Ensures operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions and informing management when repairs are needed Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks, and keeping current with continuing education units required by the state. Complies with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Maintains a good working relationship within the department, management, and referring providers Seeks supervision and consultation with management when needed. Other duties as assigned EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Maintain continuing education credits required by the California PT Board/California OT Board. Current CPR certification.
