Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct in-depth assessments and evaluations to determine clients’ mental health needs, utilizing diagnostic tools and assessment questionnaires that inform personalized treatment plans.

• Provide one-on-one counseling sessions to individuals dealing with a range of mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and addiction, employing evidence-based therapeutic modalities.

• Facilitate group therapy sessions, such as support or psychoeducational groups, to collectively address shared challenges and promote interpersonal connections among participants.

• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans with clearly defined goals and therapeutic interventions tailored to each client’s unique circumstances.

• Be prepared to respond to crisis situations by providing immediate support and conducting risk assessments, coordinating emergency interventions as needed.

• Stay informed on the latest mental health developments through participation in ongoing training and professional development programs, ensuring adherence to best practices.

• Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team of mental health professionals—including psychiatrists, psychologists, and social workers—to deliver comprehensive and coordinated care for clients.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your primary focus will be on diverse clients seeking mental health support, ranging from adolescents to adults facing varying degrees of mental health challenges. These clients may experience complex issues related to trauma, emotional well-being, and adjustments to life transitions. The successful candidate will appreciate the opportunity to foster a deeper understanding of human behavior and apply that understanding to help improve clients' daily functioning.

Qualifications\n

• A master's or doctoral degree in counseling, psychology, or a related field from an accredited institution.

• Current licensure as a mental health counselor in New York State, including completion of required supervised clinical hours and passing a state-recognized examination.

Compensation and Benefits\n
