This full-time role is based onsite within the Center for Advanced Cardiac Care (CACC). Work Environment

As a Nurse Practitioner at Sentara, you will work in a vibrant and collaborative atmosphere, closely interacting with a diverse team of healthcare professionals, including Cardiologists, fellow Nurse Practitioners, Registered Nurses, and administrative staff. The assisted living facility setting allows for a tailored patient approach, enhancing our comprehensive cardiac services.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

• Collaborate daily with a team of Cardiologists to manage and treat patients with conditions such as Hypertension, High Cholesterol, Coronary Artery Disease, and more.
• Conduct thorough patient assessments through history-taking and physical examinations, allowing for a comprehensive understanding of patient health.
• Prescribe medications and formulate treatment plans based on clinical guidelines and patient needs.
• Provide outpatient-focused Electrophysiology services for patients diagnosed with arrhythmias and abnormal ECGs, including the management of device patients and stress testing when necessary.
• Monitor and manage patients experiencing acute cardiac conditions, ensuring timely and effective interventions.
• Educate patients and their families about their conditions, treatment options, and lifestyle modifications to enhance health outcomes.
• Refer patients to specialized care within the practice as needed, ensuring a seamless continuum of care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will work with a varied patient population within the outpatient cardiology setting, including elderly patients in assisted living facilities who may require specialized cardiac care. Your role is to foster positive patient experiences through compassionate care and effective communication.

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, you must possess the following qualifications:

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing.
• Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program with current certification.
• A valid Nurse Practitioner license to practice in New York.
• Completion of an accredited program relevant to cardiology, ensuring you meet the specialized needs of our patient population.

Preferred Experience

While both seasoned Nurse Practitioners and recent graduates will be considered, candidates with prior experience in cardiology, whether in inpatient or outpatient settings, will have an advantage. Experience in managing complex cardiology cases, particularly in outpatient clinics, is highly desirable.

Compensation and Benefits

Sentara Health Care Medical Center offers a competitive salary range between USD 160,000 and 180,000 annually, commensurate with experience. Our benefits package is designed to support your professional and personal well-being, including:
