Our client is an innovative clinical diagnostics startup focused on transforming the diagnosis and treatment of brain and spinal cord tumors through advanced next-generation sequencing (NGS) platforms.

The Account Manager is an essential member of the commercial team, partnering directly with the Business Development Executive (BDE) in assigned territories. While the BDE focuses on new account acquisition, the Account Manager owns post-onboarding relationships and expands test volume growth within key high-volume hospital systems and laboratories.

This position is ideal for clinical, hospital, or laboratory professionals (e.g., Registered Nurses, Physician Assistants, Medical Technologists) looking to transition into healthcare sales, as well as early-career diagnostic sales professionals seeking mentorship and long-term career growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner closely with the territory BDE to execute account-level strategies that drive test volume growth within key health systems and hospitals.
• Serve as the primary post-onboarding contact for key accounts. Build and nurture relationships across laboratory directors, pathologists, clinical laboratory scientists, and hospital support staff.
• Work with clinical teams—including nursing, case management, and neuro-oncology coordinators—to integrate diagnostic testing into care pathways and ordering workflows.
• Identify and resolve operational barriers to test utilization by working cross-functionally with operations, laboratory, and market access teams.
• Conduct regular account reviews to communicate performance metrics, highlight clinical value, and identify utilization expansion opportunities.
• Coordinate with internal operations to ensure specimen logistics, requisition processes, and results delivery are streamlined for each account.
• Maintain clear records of account activity and feedback in the CRM; relay competitive intelligence and market dynamics to leadership.
• Represent the company at local/regional professional events, tumor boards, and institutional meetings as appropriate.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree with 3+ years of experience in laboratory diagnostics, oncology, or a clinic-adjacent role within a hospital setting (e.g., RN, PA, Lab Tech, Clinical Coordinator).
• Strong desire to enter or develop within medical sales. Prior entry-level healthcare or diagnostics sales experience is welcomed but not required.
• Familiarity with laboratory workflows, specimen handling, and operational dynamics within hospital laboratory and pathology departments.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and articulate clinical and economic value to both clinical and administrative stakeholders.
• Proficiency with standard business applications and CRM platforms.
• Willingness to travel overnight within designated territories as required.
