Outpatient Registered Nurse - RN

Role Overview The Outpatient Registered Nurse CAP 1 provides competent clinical care for dialysis patients, including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation. They delegate tasks to care staff, participate in decision-making, teaching, leadership, and quality improvement activities to enhance patient outcomes. Key Responsibilities Perform patient data collection and adjust treatment plans accordingly, documenting findings accurately. Educate patients and families on treatment options and care needs. Administer medications following prescriptions or approved protocols. Assist with emergency responses and ensure laboratory procedures are correctly performed. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to update assessments and care plans. Serve as a resource, participate in staff training, and ensure safe and effective therapy delivery. Complete required program steps for professional advancement and perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications & Skills Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with current licensure. CPR/BLS certification required. Entry-level RN with less than 2 years of nephrology nursing experience; dialysis experience preferred. Strong assessment, communication, and teamwork skills. Physical & Working Conditions Involves lifting, moving patients and equipment, prolonged standing, and exposure to infectious materials in a healthcare environment.
