Cardiology Nurse Practitioner for Outpatient Care

Position Overview

Primary Care Center Inc. is seeking an experienced and dedicated Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our outpatient practice within the Center for Advanced Cardiac Care (CACC) in Staten Island, New York. In this full-time, onsite role, you will focus on delivering high-quality care in cardiology with a commitment to improving patient health outcomes.

Work Environment

The position is based in our modern outpatient office facility, designed to foster an efficient and welcoming environment for both staff and patients. Working under the supervision of the Chief Nurse Practitioner and the Medical Director within the Division of Cardiology, you will have access to state-of-the-art technology and tools for patient assessment and monitoring.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of cardiologists, fellow NPs, registered nurses, and administrative staff to ensure outstanding patient care.
• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including history-taking, physical examinations, and the interpretation of diagnostic tests such as electrocardiograms.
• Manage chronic conditions like hypertension and hyperlipidemia, and provide treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs.
• Administer outpatient electrophysiology services to patients with arrhythmias, including those utilizing cardiac devices.
• Evaluate and manage acute cardiac conditions, including coronary artery disease, congestive heart failure, and transient ischemic attacks.
• Perform and interpret stress testing as part of a comprehensive evaluation strategy.
• Provide education to patients and their families regarding lifestyle modifications and disease management strategies.
• Utilize an electronic medical record system to document patient interactions and treatment plans, ensuring seamless communication with other healthcare team members.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The NP will be serving a diverse patient population with various cardiovascular conditions, ranging from routine checks for high cholesterol to complex arrhythmias requiring specialized outpatient procedures. We cater to patients of all ages and backgrounds, with an emphasis on building long-term relationships to foster ongoing health management.

Qualifications

• Master’s or Doctoral degree in nursing from an accredited program.
• Current and valid Nurse Practitioner license for the State of New York.
• Completion of an accredited NP program that includes a focus on cardiology or internal medicine.
• Certification as a Nurse Practitioner through a recognized national certifying body.

Preferred Experience

While our team is open to both seasoned professionals and newly graduated Nurse Practitioners, prior experience in an outpatient cardiology setting will be highly regarded. Knowledge of electrophysiology, arrhythmias, and stress testing protocols will be advantageous.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary for this position ranges from USD 120,000 to USD 160,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes:
