Position Overview

Lakefalls Family Medicine & Pediatric Clinic is actively seeking a dedicated and skilled Nurse Practitioner (NP) specializing in cardiology to join our esteemed team in Staten Island, New York. In this full-time role, you will be integral to the outpatient practice of the Center for Advanced Cardiac Care (CACC), working under the supervision of the Chief Nurse Practitioner and alongside the Medical Director within the Division of Cardiology. Work Environment

This position offers an onsite work setting within a modern clinic that emphasizes patient-centered care. The role is structured as a Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm schedule, ensuring a healthy work-life balance with no night shifts or weekend duties. As a member of our team, you will engage in a collaborative environment with cardiologists, fellow NPs, registered nurses, and administrative staff, all committed to providing high-quality care without the distraction of after-hours emergencies.

Key Responsibilities

In your role as a Nurse Practitioner in cardiology, you will be responsible for a variety of patient care activities, which include:

• Working closely with cardiologists to provide comprehensive evaluations and follow-up care for patients.
• Managing chronic conditions such as hypertension and high cholesterol, ensuring patients adhere to their treatment plans.
• Offering outpatient Electrophysiology services, including the management of patients with arrhythmias and those requiring monitoring for implantable devices.
• Assessing and managing acute cardiovascular conditions such as Coronary Artery Disease, Congestive Heart Failure, and Stroke/Transient Ischemic Attack.
• Conducting stress tests to evaluate cardiac function and determining the appropriate care pathway for patients based on the results.
• Performing thorough patient histories and physical examinations, prescribing medications per medical guidelines, and maintaining accurate health records.
• Facilitating referrals to other specialists within the practice when further evaluation or treatment is necessary.
• Providing education and support to patients and their families regarding cardiovascular health and lifestyle choices.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your work will primarily involve adult patients suffering from a range of cardiovascular issues. You will play a pivotal role in monitoring their health, educating them on managing their conditions, and implementing preventative measures to enhance their quality of life. The ideal candidate will engage with a diverse patient population, fostering trust and open communication to understand and address their unique health needs.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in nursing is required, with preference given to candidates holding a Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing.
• Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program and passing the relevant certification exam.
• A current, active Nurse Practitioner license in New York state is mandatory.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team-oriented setting.

Preferred Experience

While both seasoned Nurse Practitioners and recent graduates are encouraged to apply, prior experience in cardiology—either in an inpatient or outpatient environment—will be highly regarded. Compensation and Benefits
