This full-time position is primarily remote, allowing for flexibility while maintaining vital connections with clients. Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct individual therapy sessions in the clients' homes or through virtual platforms, adapting approaches to meet the unique needs of each child and family.

• Facilitate group therapy sessions in our outpatient office, focusing on anger management, coping strategies, social skills development, and reducing high-risk behaviors such as self-injurious behavior or physical aggression.
\n
• Empower youth and their caregivers by enhancing decision-making skills to effectively manage behavioral challenges at home.
\n
• Collaborate with the Child Family Treatment Team and various professionals, ensuring a cohesive approach that addresses the diverse challenges facing the family unit.

• Maintain accurate and timely records for all therapy sessions, including intakes, treatment plans, and progress notes, in alignment with organizational policies.
\n
• Participate in monthly clinical meetings to discuss cases and offer insights or recommendations that enhance service delivery.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

In this role, you will work closely with a diverse population of children aged 3 to 20 who have developmental and intellectual disabilities, providing tailored therapy that promotes their overall mental health and quality of life. Your expertise will make a significant difference in addressing various emotional and behavioral challenges, ensuring these young individuals receive the support they need to thrive.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, or a closely related field is required.

• An active and unrestricted Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) license is necessary to practice in New York.

• Availability for at least 5-10 hours per week during peak after-school hours (4 PM - 7 PM), with additional flexibility for weekend sessions considered beneficial.

• Experience in providing positive behavior support and interventions essential for children with emotional and behavioral issues.
\n
• A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are necessary for home visits.
\n
• A successful completion of a criminal background check, including fingerprinting, is required for all candidates.

Preferred Experience\n

• Prior experience working with children and teens with various developmental disabilities is highly preferred to effectively address their unique needs.

• Familiarity with community resources and support services is advantageous to enhance the care provided to families.

Compensation and Benefits\n
