Job Description and Duties
Are you looking to be part of a dynamic team that protects the environment? The California Department of Fish and Wildlife's (CDFW) Business Management Branch (BMB) is seeking a motivated individual to work as an Analyst I/II in Sacramento. Under the direction of the Supervisor I, State Owned Property Management and Payable Grants Unit, incumbent will perform a variety of tasks that include: review and analyze payable grants and amendments to ensure compliance and best practice, review and analyze State-Owned Housing (SOH) Employee Housing Rental Agreements, review and analyze facility inspections contracts, coordinate with programs to develop grant templates, coordinate with CDFW program staff in the development, review, and execution of Land Use Agreements, and facilitate the State Owned Housing and State Owned Facility inspection program.
We are seeking an individual with a strong desire to learn routine and detailed work, a capacity for accelerated learning, an eagerness to take on challenging work assignments, and a willingness and ability to accept increasing responsibility.
Personal Leave Program: Effective July 1, 2025, state employees are subject to temporary salary reductions ranging from 2% to 4.62% in exchange for Personal Leave Program (PLP) hours. Please note that the salary ranges listed in this Job Control may not reflect these reductions associated with the 2025 Personal Leave Program.

This position may be eligible for a telework opportunity in accordance with departmental policies and operational needs. Beginning July 1, 2026, employees will be required to work in-person at least four (4) days per week in alignment with Executive Order N-22-25. Additional in-office days may be required based on operational needs.

Working Conditions
This position is eligible for a hybrid work model with a blend of in-office and remote work. In-office work will be conducted in downtown Sacramento, consisting of four full business days per week. Work hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm, Monday through Friday, with possibility of Flex Schedule based on work need. Ability to use a computer keyboard several hours a day. Involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods.

Consult with and advise administrators, stakeholders, and other interested parties on a broad range of subject-matter areas; establish and maintain effective working relationships; coordinate the work of others; lead teams, meetings, and conferences; and effectively present information and recommendations before legislative and other committees.
Interpersonal Skills: Exhibit effective oral and written communication skills; apply sound judgment, logic, and deductive reasoning to identify and resolve issues; learn and implement business administration processes; analyze complex problems; and develop effective business solutions.
