Key Responsibilities Conduct thorough and compassionate assessments of clients' substance abuse history, mental health status, and treatment needs to formulate effective care plans. Design personalized treatment plans that holistically address the complexities of addiction as well as the co-occurring mental health disorders. Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions, utilizing proven methodologies such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing (MI), and mindfulness-based techniques. Collaborate closely with fellow treatment team members to ensure a seamless and integrated approach to client care, discussing client progress and adjusting treatment strategies as necessary. Offer educational support to clients' families to foster their involvement in the recovery process, addressing their concerns, and enhancing their understanding. Document all client interactions and maintain accurate, confidential records in compliance with applicable regulatory and ethical standards. Patient Population / Client Focus Your primary focus will involve working with individuals struggling with substance use disorders and related mental health issues. You will provide individualized support and therapeutic interventions tailored to each client's unique journey toward recovery. The role demands sensitivity, compassion, and an understanding of the complex nature of addiction. Qualifications A valid and current license as a Mental Health Counselor (LCSW, LMFT, LMHC, or LCSW-R) is required. A master's or doctoral degree in counseling, social work, psychology, or a related field is mandatory. Proven experience or specialized training in addiction counseling and substance abuse treatment methodologies is essential. Familiarity with evidence-based practices for treating addiction and co-occurring disorders is critical.
