The role of Licensed Mental Health Therapist at Flores Behavioral Health Services, Inc. is a unique opportunity to provide critical support to Black birthing families in a telehealth setting. This full-time position allows for flexibility while ensuring that you can impact lives positively through effective counseling and case management. As a licensed therapist (LCSW, LPCC, or LMFT), you will help guide clients through their mental health journeys, assisting them in achieving personal and familial well-being.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Deliver comprehensive behavioral health assessments, counseling, and case management tailored to the needs of Black birthing families.
\n
• Develop individualized treatment plans in consultation with families to address their specific needs and circumstances.
\n
• Conduct virtual sessions using established telehealth protocols while maintaining confidentiality and adherence to ethical guidelines.
\n
• Facilitate and co-lead childbirth education and postpartum peer support groups, collaborating with doulas, lactation consultants, and other birth workers to foster community and support.
\n
• Engage with prenatal care team members to ensure integrated and holistic approaches to client care, facilitating seamless referrals and communications.
\n
• Participate in ongoing staff meetings and training sessions aimed at enhancing team cohesion and professional development.
\n
• Document sessions and manage caseload effectively using the organization’s mental health information systems, ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards.

• Perform additional related duties as assigned to enhance program effectiveness.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This role specifically focuses on serving Black birthing families, an underserved population facing unique challenges during pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum. You will engage with clients from diverse backgrounds, proactively addressing issues related to mental health, maternal and infant health, and social determinants affecting their well-being.

Qualifications\n

• Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution.
\n
• Current licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in California.
\n
• Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to work professionally in a multicultural, interdisciplinary setting.
\n
• Strong organizational skills and the capacity to manage multiple tasks effectively while being receptive to feedback and support.
\n

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience providing mental health services to pregnant and postpartum individuals, especially within the Black community.

• Familiarity with community resources and health care services available for birthing families.
\n
• Background in group facilitation or education within a mental health or perinatal context.
