Army Client Account Director

Job Summary AECOM seeks an experienced Executive for our Army Account Team. The Client Account Manager (CAM) role is high‑visibility within the National Government’s DOD program. The CAM will influence internal strategy, develop client relationships, and grow the Army DOD account. Strategic Direction, Intelligence, and Positioning Develop strategic plan and manage it—follow the money. Identify external drivers influencing the marketplace. Determine resource allocation and investment for growth. Analyze competitors and small‑business opportunities. Coordinate with Regional Business Line and Business Line Leaders. Account Plan Development Develop opportunity targets based on market conditions and client acquisition strategies; negotiate goals with BLLs and keep Regional Execs informed. Create and maintain a pipeline of opportunities and growth targets. Flow down goals to Regional Engagement Teams. Monitor and support Program/Project opportunities. Continuously improve portfolio quality and optimize across Regions/BLs. Account Performance Maintain monthly situational awareness of account performance. Ensure bookings and pipeline align with projections; produce situational reports when misalignment occurs. Pursuit Support & Salesforce Management Review and update the Salesforce pipeline weekly; ensure capture plans for all major pursuits. Assist with teaming and negotiation. Coordinate with FBS & Marketing for maximum support and resolve conflicts among BLs. Facilitate risk management, pricing, proposal review, and other federal requirements; own major proposals. Contract Fill‑up Track Program Manager performance against contract capacity. Monitor sub‑positions and non‑productive relationships. Develop strategies with BLs to improve under‑performing contracts. Client Relationships Lead and manage key relationships at major clients. Optimize cross‑sell opportunities; oversee corrective actions and monitor recoveries. Develop engagement plans with BLs. Compliance Maintain situational awareness; serve on JV Boards for large programs. Collaborate with FBS to ensure FAR compliance. Performance & Risk Assessment Maintain situational awareness of contract performance. Review CPAR reports and rebuttals. Discuss major Program Managers monthly. OCI Resolution Engage major Program Managers monthly. Communicate / Coordinate Implement an account‑level focus group communication strategy to report YTD status and metrics. Communicate progress up the National Government chain. Collaborate across Divisional boundaries. Lead Business Line reviews of the Army account to maintain the pipeline. Lead and Motivate Promote the AECOM/NG brand and engage in professional development. Build the federal team of teams and spread vision and accolades. Staff Reviews Highlight vision and accolades across the team. The CAM will be responsible for client relations, market analysis, strategy development, positioning, capture, and management of client contracts worldwide. This includes executing strategic and account plans to achieve annual targets and grow the program year over year. The CAM acts as an advocate for the assigned account, collaborating with AECOM members across business lines and regions, coordinating client engagement, identifying new opportunities, winning task orders and contracts, and resolving client issues. The CAM must be a strong leader who inspires, motivates, and builds teams while communicating effectively. They collaborate across all business lines and operating geographies, lead programs, establish strategies, drive growth, manage engagement, resolve issues, and act as an ombudsman to de‑conflict organizational conflicts of interest. The CAM reports to an Account Director in the National Government’s Business Lines. Minimum Requirements Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, or related discipline aligned with AECOM’s Business Lines. 15+ years of experience working with U.S. federal government agencies on architect‑engineering programs, including 6+ years in a leadership role. Travel required throughout CONUS and some OCONUS based on project and opportunity needs. U.S. citizenship is required due to the nature of the role. Knowledge and Skills In‑depth knowledge of consultative selling approaches. Outstanding communication and negotiation skills. Expertise in managing complex, multi‑country, multi‑business‑unit deals. Willingness to learn and adapt to AECOM’s portfolio. CRM (Salesforce) experience is a plus. Additional Information Compensation range: $200,000 to $220,000 annually, based on education, qualifications, experience, and location.
