Work Environment\n

This position will be conducted in a remote setting, allowing for flexibility while maintaining a structured work schedule from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Although you will work primarily from home, you will engage closely with multidisciplinary teams and be connected to our outpatient office in Tacoma for collaborative care planning and clinical discussions. Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments for elderly residents, establishing their individual mental health needs and care plans.

• Provide individualized and group counseling sessions to help clients deal with emotional challenges associated with aging, such as grief, loss, and life transitions.

• Work collaboratively with healthcare providers to develop and implement comprehensive care plans that cater to the psychological needs of geriatric clients.

• Educate family members and staff on evidence-based strategies to promote emotional well-being and support seniors in improving their quality of life.

• Facilitate grief and loss counseling for both residents and families navigating end-of-life issues, addressing the emotional complexities involved.

• Implement cognitive stimulation activities and mental health interventions designed to enhance mental acuity and reduce cognitive decline in elderly individuals.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This role primarily focuses on serving the elderly population, particularly individuals who are experiencing various mental health challenges, including depression, anxiety, and adjustment disorders related to aging. Clients may also be coping with significant life changes such as loss of loved ones, chronic illness, or transition to assisted living. Your expertise will be crucial in creating personalized therapeutic strategies that reflect the unique experiences and cultural backgrounds of each client.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution.

• A valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) credential.

Compensation and Benefits\n
