Key Responsibilities\n

In your role as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, you will:

• Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations to determine clients’ mental health needs, crafting personalized treatment plans based on evidence-based practices.

• Administer therapeutic interventions individually, in groups, or with families, utilizing approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), or Person-Centered Therapy.

• Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate comprehensive care, which may include regular updates and strategy meetings to determine the best course of action for clients.

• Provide timely crisis intervention and support for clients facing acute distress, utilizing de-escalation techniques and providing crisis assessment as necessary.

• Participate in outreach initiatives within the community aimed at promoting mental health awareness, reducing stigma, and encouraging proactive mental health treatment.

The clients you will serve come from diverse backgrounds, and many face significant life challenges, including trauma, anxiety, depression, and adjustment disorders. Our center is particularly focused on ensuring equitable access to mental health support for marginalized and underserved populations within State College and the surrounding areas.

Qualifications\n

To thrive in this position, candidates should meet the following qualifications:

• Possess a current and valid license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD).

• Hold a master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology.
\n
• Exhibit exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, fostering trust and rapport with clients.

• Demonstrate cultural competence and the ability to engage authentically with clients from various backgrounds.
\n
• Possess strong organizational skills, ensuring accurate and timely documentation while adhering to ethical standards of care.

Preferred Experience\n

While a minimum of two years of relevant experience is required, candidates with experience in community mental health settings or with specific populations, such as children, adolescents, or individuals experiencing homelessness, are particularly encouraged to apply. Compensation and Benefits\n
