Position: Benefits Coordinator – Full-Time Provisional

Responsibilities:

• Administer employee benefits programs (health, dental, vision, and, FSA/HAS, Retirement Systems, 403b)
• Coordinate open enrollment and benefit changes
• Process new hire enrollments, terminations, retirements, and qualifying life events
• Maintain employee benefit and personnel records
• Serve as liaison with insurance carriers, brokers, and retirement systems
• Monitor and reconcile benefit invoices and deductions
• Assist employees with benefit questions and claims issues
• Coordinates and prepares wellness program events and initiatives.
• Completes and maintains federal, state, and district reports related to employee insurance and benefit packages.
• Prepares and files 1095-B and 1095-C tax forms in compliance with the Affordable Care Act.
• Performs general office duties, including filing, typing, and computer data entry, and employee communication both in the office and via phone, faxes, and computer.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of personnel, payroll, medical, and benefit records
• Ensure compliance with: HIPAA, ACA, COBRA, Safeguard Protected Health Information (PHI) and Personally Identifiable Information (PII)
• Maintain accurate records and retention schedules
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Human Resources, Accounting, Finance or a related field AND one (1) year work experience in employee benefit administration; OR Associates degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Human Resources, Accounting, Finance or a related field AND three (3) years work experience in employee benefit administration; OR An equivalent combination of the training and experience within the limits of (A) through (B) above.

Eligibility: Must meet Civil Service eligibility requirements

Effective Date: Immediately

Salary: $76,000 - $81,000 (Prorated), commensurate with experience
