Position Overview

The Federal Opportunity & Channel Manager serves as the critical link between Buffalo Supply and our medical manufacturer partners. Based on site at our Lafayette, Colorado office, this highly visible role is responsible for identifying federal bid opportunities, collaborating with manufacturer leadership to map products to complex technical requirements, and building compliant, winning bid packages. This role perfectly balances high-touch relationship management with intense, data-driven project and proposal execution.

• Travel: Up to 30% for national sales meetings and industry events.

• Schedule: Standard Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM.

Core Responsibilities

Federal Bid Sourcing & Opportunity Management

\n
• Portal Monitoring: Actively monitor GSA eBuy, SAM.gov, and other federal procurement boards to catch matching opportunities for partner product lines.
\n
• Solicitation Analysis: Review detailed RFQs, RFPs, and federal solicitations to pinpoint precise technical requirements, salient characteristics, evaluation criteria, and submission rules.
\n
• Bid/No-Bid Strategy: Partner closely with manufacturer reps and executives to assess product-to-solicitation alignment, flag technical gaps, and guide strategic bid/no-bid decisions.
\n

Proposal Assembly, Tracking & Execution

\n
• Package Construction: Gather required technical specifications, pricing structures, certifications, and legal forms from partners to build flawless, comprehensive bid packages.
\n
• Portal Submission: Electronically assemble and submit finalized bid packages through GSA eBuy, SAM.gov, and assigned federal procurement portals.
\n
• Lifecycle Tracking: Monitor amendments, clarifications, and shifting deadlines on all active solicitations, managing the process entirely through the final award stage.
\n
• Pre-Submission Compliance: Confirm that SAM registrations, GSA Schedule statuses, and relevant NAICS codes are completely accurate and current prior to any submission.

Future Scope: Channel Relationship Management & Growth

\n
• Primary Liaison: Serve as the day-to-day relationship owner and trusted advisor for assigned manufacturer and distributor partners.
\n
• Executive Reviews: Create and deliver comprehensive weekly sales reports and lead strategic Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) packed with clear trends, market insights, and actionable growth recommendations.
\n
• Business Development: Support the smooth onboarding of new manufacturer partners and proactively identify opportunities to expand existing lines into new military divisions or product categories.
\n
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Sync directly with internal contracting and operations teams to seamlessly advance pipeline opportunities from portal award to product delivery.
\n

Future Scope: Marketing & Sales Enablement

\n
• Field Toolkit Creation: Develop highly professional training materials, contract capability statements, and partner marketing toolkits.
\n
• Brand Advocacy: Represent Buffalo Supply at national sales meetings, federal procurement conferences, and major industry trade shows.
\n
• Digital Campaigns: Lead strategic website, social media, and digital content initiatives to increase contract visibility among federal buyers.
\n

Qualifications

Required:

\n
• Experience: Dedicated federal bid management, program management, channel management, or proposal coordination experience.
\n
• System Expertise: Hands-on experience navigating federal bid boards (GSA eBuy, SAM.gov, or similar alternate portals), including analyzing solicitations and uploading complex multi-document packages.
\n
• Attention to Detail: Intense, meticulous attention to detail regarding data analysis, spreadsheet validation, and government compliance requirements.
\n
• Communication: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with complete comfort interacting with executive-level corporate contacts.
\n

•     Travel: Willingness and ability to travel up to 30%.

Preferred:

• Partner Presentation: Proven background building and presenting professional business reviews, sales reports, or strategic insights to external corporate partners.
\n
• Advanced Analytics: High proficiency in Excel (including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs/XLOOKUPs, and trend analysis) to construct client-ready data models.
\n
• Industry Background: Previous experience navigating medical device sales, healthcare supply chains, or deeply regulated market structures.
\n
• Federal Knowledge: A solid working knowledge of FAR, VAAR, GSAR, etc. clauses and federal procurement vehicles.
\n

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary Range: $75,000 – $85,000 annually .
\n
