Human Resources Generalist

Location: Maryland Heights, MO (100% Onsite) Assignment: 6-Month Contract-to-Hire (High Potential to Convert) Pay Rate: Up to $43/hour DOE About the Opportunity Our client is seeking an experienced HR Generalist to support a fast-paced, highly regulated manufacturing environment. This role partners closely with HR Business Partners, site leadership, and employees to support a wide range of Human Resources functions including employee relations, HR operations, recruiting support, onboarding, leave administration, compliance, and employee engagement. Responsibilities Support employee and labor relations by addressing workplace concerns, conducting investigations, and documenting findings. Partner with managers on employee performance, attendance, disciplinary actions, and policy interpretation. Provide guidance to employees and supervisors on HR policies, procedures, and workplace matters. Maintain HRIS data and process employee transactions including hires, transfers, promotions, compensation changes, and terminations. Perform HR audits to ensure data accuracy and compliance with company policies and employment regulations. Generate HR reports and workforce metrics to support business decisions. Coordinate leave administration and partner with internal teams to support return-to-work processes. Assist with recruiting coordination, onboarding, new hire orientation, and pre-employment activities. Support employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, communications, and site events. Maintain employee records and personnel files. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, company policies, and collective bargaining agreements. Participate in HR projects, process improvements, and workforce planning initiatives. Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field. 2–5 years of HR Generalist experience. Experience supporting: Employee Relations HR Investigations Performance Management HRIS Administration Leave Administration HR Operations Knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices. Strong communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Experience with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint). Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and sound judgment. Preferred Experience supporting a unionized workforce. HR experience within manufacturing, pharmaceutical, medical device, life sciences, CDMO, or another regulated industry.
